Open Content and Intellectual Property Notice

Effective date: July 28, 2026

The Short Version

Gluten Free Brewer is building an open body of practical and research-grounded gluten-free brewing knowledge.

Unless a page, download, image, dataset, tool, or other item says otherwise, original public content intentionally published by Gluten Free Brewer is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).

You may copy, share, quote, translate, adapt, teach from, research from, and build upon that public content, including for commercial purposes, provided that you give appropriate credit, identify meaningful changes, link to the license where practical, and do not imply endorsement.

The open-content license applies to the public knowledge product. It does not apply to the private systems used to research, evaluate, govern, maintain, or publish that knowledge.

The published brewing knowledge is open with attribution. The system that produces and governs it is not.

Public Gluten Free Brewer Content

Unless otherwise identified, original public content intentionally published by Gluten Free Brewer, LLC is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.

This generally includes original public:

  • brewing and malting articles
  • technical explanations and documentation
  • protocols and process guidance
  • original charts, diagrams, and illustrations
  • research syntheses and educational materials
  • page copy and public editorial products
  • public downloads expressly presented as part of the knowledge base

The CC BY 4.0 license allows reuse, adaptation, redistribution, and commercial use subject to its terms.

The official license terms are available at:

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Attribution

Appropriate attribution should identify, when reasonably practical:

  • Gluten Free Brewer as the source
  • the title of the page, article, chart, protocol, or other item used
  • the original page URL
  • the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license
  • whether meaningful changes, translations, excerpts, or adaptations were made

A practical attribution may read:

Adapted from “Title of Page,” Gluten Free Brewer, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Changes were made.

Attribution does not require advance permission, and it does not imply that Gluten Free Brewer, its contributors, or ImpySoft endorses the user or the resulting work.

What You May Do

Subject to third-party rights and any item-specific notice, you may:

  • read and use the public site for personal, educational, research, nonprofit, or commercial purposes
  • link to public pages
  • quote public content with attribution
  • reproduce public content with attribution
  • translate or adapt public content with attribution and a change notice
  • include public content in papers, presentations, lectures, courses, books, databases, websites, software, and other works
  • build upon public brewing knowledge in new research, processes, products, tools, and services

No separate permission request is required for uses authorized by CC BY 4.0.

What the Public License Does Not Cover

The public-content license does not apply to:

  • third-party research, quotations, images, diagrams, data, trademarks, or other material
  • items carrying a different license or rights notice
  • personal information, customer records, supplier records, or confidential business information
  • private or unpublished research submissions
  • private repository materials
  • source code or software unless separately licensed
  • the Knowledge Foundry, Prospector, or related internal machinery
  • private prompts, agent instructions, governance systems, workflows, schemas, evaluations, or implementation details
  • Gluten Free Brewer or ImpySoft names, logos, trademarks, or branding

Fair use, public-domain status, statutory rights, and separately granted permissions remain unaffected.

Research and Community Contributions

Gluten Free Brewer welcomes corrections, technical review, research leads, source material, datasets, protocols, field experience, and other contributions that improve the public knowledge base.

Contributors retain ownership of their original submissions unless a separate signed agreement expressly transfers ownership.

Submitting a correction, suggestion, source, comment, or proposed contribution does not by itself transfer ownership.

When Gluten Free Brewer accepts a contribution for publication, the contributor grants Gluten Free Brewer, LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to review, edit, reproduce, publish, maintain, archive, distribute, and adapt that contribution as part of the Gluten Free Brewer knowledge product.

Unless the contributor and Gluten Free Brewer agree otherwise in writing before publication, original accepted contribution material intentionally published as part of the public knowledge base will be made available under CC BY 4.0.

Contributors:

  • keep ownership of their original work
  • remain free to publish, reuse, license, or develop their own work elsewhere
  • should receive appropriate attribution when their contribution is substantial and identifiable
  • may request a reasonable attribution name, affiliation, or citation format
  • must have the right to submit the material they provide
  • must identify known third-party restrictions, confidentiality obligations, or publication limits

Gluten Free Brewer may edit, fact-check, combine, decline, delay, correct, update, or remove contributions as needed to maintain the quality and safety of the knowledge base.

More detail is provided in the Research and Contribution Policy.

Confidential and Unpublished Material

Do not submit confidential, proprietary, embargoed, regulated, or personally sensitive material through ordinary contact channels.

Material clearly submitted as confidential or unpublished will not be intentionally published without the contributor's permission or another valid legal basis. A separate written agreement and secure process may be required before Gluten Free Brewer accepts sensitive material.

The open-content license applies only after material is intentionally published as public Gluten Free Brewer content. It does not automatically apply to private submissions, drafts, correspondence, review notes, or unpublished source material.

Knowledge Foundry and Prospector

The Knowledge Foundry is the proprietary platform used to research, govern, maintain, and publish knowledge products. Prospector is part of that platform and its research-acquisition and monitoring machinery.

Unless a specific written agreement expressly states otherwise, the following materials and associated intellectual-property rights are proprietary to ImpySoft, LLC:

  • Knowledge Foundry architecture, methods, and system design
  • Prospector architecture, workflows, and methods
  • governance frameworks, constitutional rules, standards, and controls
  • prompts, agent instructions, expert-lens systems, and evaluation methods
  • generic schemas, records, templates, taxonomies, and workflow definitions
  • source code, scripts, components, automation, and integrations
  • reusable domain-neutral methods and platform improvements
  • unpublished research, working files, internal documentation, and implementation details
  • modifications, adaptations, and derivative platform materials, except where a written agreement states otherwise

Gluten Free Brewer, LLC is authorized to use the Knowledge Foundry for the Gluten Free Brewer project. That authorization does not make the Foundry public, transfer ownership to Gluten Free Brewer, LLC, or grant rights to site visitors, contributors, reviewers, researchers, or repository users.

No public-content license applies to the Knowledge Foundry or Prospector merely because public knowledge was produced with them.

All rights in the private Foundry and Prospector materials are reserved by ImpySoft, LLC. No license is granted by implication, estoppel, access, disclosure, demonstration, review, collaboration, contribution, or use of the public site.

Without prior written authorization from ImpySoft, LLC, no person may copy, disclose, publish, distribute, commercialize, sublicense, sell, reverse engineer, recreate, adapt, or create derivative works from private Foundry, Prospector, or related platform materials.

Private Foundry materials may contain confidential information and trade secrets. Access remains subject to applicable confidentiality, security, and contractual restrictions.

Repository and Code Materials

Do not assume that the public-content license applies to software or private repository materials, or that a software dependency's license applies to public site content.

This repository contains materials owned by more than one rights holder:

  • Gluten Free Brewer, LLC owns the original Gluten Free Brewer public knowledge product and brewing-specific materials.
  • ImpySoft, LLC owns the generic Knowledge Foundry, Prospector, platform software, reusable architecture, and related internal machinery.
  • Third-party packages, research, media, and other components remain governed by their own rights and licenses.

Access to a private repository, development environment, demonstration, or internal document does not transfer ownership or create an implied license.

Third-Party Material

This notice does not claim ownership of material owned by others, including:

  • third-party trademarks and brand names
  • quotations and research owned by their original authors or publishers
  • third-party images, diagrams, video, or audio
  • linked external content
  • open-source software and other separately licensed components
  • government or public-domain material

Third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights, licenses, permissions, and legal limitations. The CC BY 4.0 license applies only to original material that Gluten Free Brewer has the right to license.

No Endorsement

Attribution or permitted use does not authorize anyone to imply that Gluten Free Brewer, LLC, ImpySoft, LLC, Craig Belser, or a contributor endorses a person, product, brewery, course, company, publication, service, or adaptation.
